Funeral Ceremonies

As a Funeral Celebrant, I specialise in creating, writing and leading ceremonies that reflect the personality of your loved one - and in doing so, creating a ceremony that is both meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.

I listen carefully to your wishes to make sure that the ceremony is fitting and really capture the essence of the person with dignity and gratitude.

I am not affiliated to any particular religion and therefore the ceremony can be either non-religious or contain some religious elements - such as hymns, readings or prayers. You may want to invite family and friends to take part in the ceremony by means of music, stories, readings and personal tributes.

I will guide and support you all the way to create a unique and personalised funeral ceremony.

What is a Civil Funeral?

A Civil Funeral is a ceremony that is based upon the wishes, beliefs and values of you, your family and your loved one.

It's a unique and personal Celebration of Life - allowing family and friends to acknowledge a death, pay tribute to a life lived, and find comfort for the time to come.

Often, the ceremony takes place at a crematorium or non-religious burial site, but any other location can be chosen; for example, a chapel, an outdoor place, a venue that has been meaningful to the person who has died, or at home.

Natural and Woodland Burials

Has your loved one ever expressed a wish to be buried in a natural, woodland setting? A woodland burial is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burials and cremation. This beautiful option allows families to approach a funeral with simplicity and flexibility - and provides a serene and comforting environment for quiet reflection and remembrance.

Scattering or Burial of Ashes

This simple ceremony takes place after a cremation and involves scattering your loved one’s ashes in a special place. Most people choose a place associated with happy memories, a special event or a loved one. It is comforting to think that a place you have loved - will be where your last remains lay.

Memorial Services

A memorial service is typically held some weeks after a private, family funeral. It is a longer, bespoke ceremony, which offers time to reflect and celebrate a person’s life and legacy. This is a good choice - if the person was very well-known and a large number of people want to pay their respects.

Planning Your Own Funeral

By pre-planning your own funeral, you can relieve your loved ones of this burden, allowing them to focus on honouring your life rather than getting caught up in logistics.

If you are the sort of person who likes to be organised and get everything in place, then pre-planning your own funeral will give you this control and having planned it - great peace of mind.
