Celebrating Weddings

A Wedding Ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your relationship and union with each other and share it with all your family and friends.  I ensure that your special day, is a happy, enjoyable and memorable event for everyone involved.

Getting to know you as a couple and listening carefully to your wishes, helps me in my role to create and shape a unique ceremony –  a ceremony that reflects who you are, and centred on what matters most to you.

I can help you choose suitable readings, poems and music for your special day; and if you would like to add that touch of ‘magic’, we could include some amazing wedding rituals and traditions; (such as ‘tying the knot’ in a traditional handfasting, a sand blending ceremony, a ring warming, a ‘quaich’ ceremony or even ‘jumping the broom’).

With a celebrant, you have the freedom of celebrating your wedding anywhere – on a beautiful beach, in an old barn, on a boat, in your back garden, in some romantic woods – the choice is yours and is endless.

Book ‘Mike Warren Celebrant’ now, to make your day one that is memorable, meaningful and celebrates the love that you have for each other.

Handfasting Ceremony

Hand-fasting is a symbolic unity ritual in which a couple stand face to face as their hands are tied together - hence the phrase, tying the knot! As your hands are bound, you can recite special words that express your commitment to one another.

Hand-fasting rituals are associated with Pagan ceremonies, but are now often seen in secular, spiritual, and even some Christian ceremonies.

Sand Ceremony

The unity sand ceremony, a variation of the unity candle ceremony, is a tradition full of symbolism. Two people take sand from their individual vessels and combine the grains into one. The act represents the joining of two individuals and the creation of a new union and family. The joined vessel symbolises the marriage of both partner’s hopes, dreams and values.

Ring Warming with guests

Blessing of the Rings

This beautiful ritual involves your wedding rings being passed around your chosen guests and warmed with their love, blessings and positive energy. By the time the rings make it on to the fingers of the couple, they will contain something very powerful and very precious - the love and blessings of their friends and family.

Jumping the Broom

Jumping the Broom symbolically represents sweeping away your single lives and jumping into your married future.

The wooden handle represents the strength of your commitment, the straw represents family, and the ribbons hold you together. The act itself represent love, togetherness, loyalty and respect – all key ingredients for the recipe of a successful marriage!

What difference can a Wedding Celebrant make?

A Celebrant Led Wedding offers a unique opportunity to create a personal and memorable event that truly reflects your love story. Celebrants invest time in understanding your journey as a couple, including your values and preferences, allowing them to craft a ceremony tailored specifically to you.

In contrast to registrar-led ceremonies, which often take place in more formal environments, celebrants can conduct weddings in beautiful outdoor venues such as woodlands, gardens, or fields.

Additionally, celebrants are not bound by strict time constraints. This freedom enables them to fully dedicate attention to each element of the ceremony, ensuring it resonates deeply with both you and your guests. The focus on personalisation and emotional depth makes celebrant-led weddings a distinctive choice for those wishing to celebrate their union in a heartfelt and meaningful way.
